Biography

Over the last twenty years, I’ve undertaken a variety of assignments as a coach, consultant, counsellor, educator, facilitator, trainer, and psychotherapist, with a general theme of “developing people potential” through “changing conversations”.

Qualified and experienced in a variety of tried and tested models and techniques,  I offer a tailored and flexible service to clients in transition—throughout their lives and careers.

I'm an internationally endorsed TA trainer and supervisor (PTSTA, CTA), and gained an MSc in TA Psychotherapy before qualifying to deliver EMDR, and undertaking additional training in CBT.  I'm registered as a Clinical Psychotherapist with the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). For more on EMDR (a specialist treatment for trauma and many other problems), please see the dedicated EMDR page page under “Counselling for Change”.

In my 'previous life',  I held management and senior admin roles in both public, private and not-for-profit sectors. I worked in the Private Offices of Government Ministers, and acted as HR Director and Company Secretary in a major travel and tourism plc (at the time, I was a Chartered Member of the Institute of Personnel & Development, MCIPD.) These roles meant having to make tough staffing and financial decisions, and work in the thick of organisational politics while going through major re-structurings and re-sizings.

Since becoming self employed in 1991, Consultancy assignments included designing and delivering two major Leadership and Culture Change programmes, liaising with the Board to deliver their Corporate Strategy. The first was for a Dutch privately-owned emergency services company, and rolled out over 2 years. The second was for a Trading Fund of the MoD, over 4 years. Both programmes incorporated Individual and Team Coaching aligned with Introductory and Advanced Leadership Development modules.

These and other projects included selecting and managing a diverse team of coaches, consultants and facilitators to deliver the full spectrum of knowledge and skills required by the client organisation. Both programmes focussed on communication skills -  "changing conversations" -  and helping companies to become more commercially agile to respond to changing markets.

I now specialise in psychotherapeutic 121 and small group work,  and in executive and life coaching where significant changes requiring a psychological approach are sought.
